Bones, just like all other tissues in the body, always undergo a process of new cell growth and the breakdown of old cells. This means that your skeleton has the potential to change every 10 years.

Osteoporosis happens when the quality and density of one’s bones begin to reduce, but it doesn’t impact every bone the same way. This sometimes happens if the bones are not stimulated enough to renew themselves.

One way towards building a healthy bone is learning how to maintain an ideal body alignment. Click To Tweet

There are many ways in which one can build or rebuild the quality and density of the bones. Some of them are:

  • Movement. Make sure you are deliberate about creating opportunities to move. This is especially important if your work is mostly sedentary. Walking helps to stimulate your bones to renew themselves.
  • One way towards building a healthy bone is wearing good quality flat shoes that will make you feel comfortable as you are walking.
  • We all have to learn how to maintain an ideal body alignment. You do this by standing in front of a full mirror with your feet on the floor and see if you are able to easily lift your toes off the ground while you keep your balance. You can also practise bringing your hips and pelvic back while you try and lift your toes off the floor, your hip should be stacked directly above your ankle.

Yes, practising how to build our bones is a bit difficult but we have to start doing it one step at a time so as to prevent osteoporosis.
